Various countries in the world have widely varying divorce rates with Asian societies like China and India having very low rates. That does not in the least mean that these countries are full of happy couples, but they are just enduring each other despite mutual despise, frustration and lack of understanding.

Marriage is meant to grow and true marriage is never an affair of convenience. It is not the least bit transactional. A good marriage is meant to assist both partners grow and complement each other. If on the contrary, they are actually hampering each other, thwarting each other, and becoming roadblocks for each other, then it is better to seek a divorce, IMO.

When two divorced people date, interact, romance, and explore one another, they come with the understanding of a marriage that turned out to be a curse than a boon. That brings great learning and better understanding in terms of compatibility, one's own mistakes and the desire not to repeat them. Then the person is more aware of the kind of partner he/she can grow with and enjoy life with.

So, as a divorcee, i am proud and excited to belong to this community and look forward to fruitful and joyful interactions.
